[ This is going to be post-lounge reveal but Ayabe is ALL BETTER now, sitting in the conservatory because it's one of the last few places that hasn't been utterly defiled.
He starts when Missile speaks up- he will probably always start when he hears the dog speak- but turns and kneels so he can be closer to eye level with him. ]
Oh, hey, Fairy. [ He has also not read profiles yet. He'll do that someday. ] I'm just keeping away from all the noise. What are doing here? Are you hungry?
[ Just in case... That's valid, though, Ayabe's canon has a kid who was playing hide and seek and was left hiding in the park overnight because everybody else ditched her, she would have appreciated Missile coming to find her. ]
It's just noisy. With everybody rushing around making a mess, I don't want to get involved in all that. You shouldn't either- you're small enough that somebody might hurt you on accident while they're running around.
[ Throwing chairs or whatever the hell happened out there. ]
You don't have to worry about me! I'm a tough little doggy! And if anyone tries to step on me... I'll bark at them!!!
[ he almost got really loud at the end, before remembering 3 minutes ago. ]
Messes can be a lot of fun too! Why, Miss Kamila and I make a mess of Miss Lynne's sofa all the time! But then Miss Lynne yells at us. Like she isn't messy either!
Hmmmm... that's probably a good idea! It would prevent a lot of accidents, wouldn't it? Except when someone's coming close for pets! Ohhh, or for hugs!
[ he likes hugs too much to bark them away. ]
Hmph! As if Miss Lynne doesn't drop things all over the couch! Why, just the other day I saw her drop a chicken bone behind it! And then she chased me away when I tried to eat the skin!!!
[ With all the dog lovers in this place, they'll probably take the barking as excitement, an invitation to get closer instead of going away, so it works out. The main thing is drawing attention to Missile so neither person gets taken by surprise. ]
Does she not have a dining table she eats at?
[ Miss Lynne!! ]
Come to think of it, have people been feeding you alright here? Sometimes the food served for people isn't safe for dogs. I cooked dog food for Ling's dog, but she isn't here [ so presumably Jin Ling ate the dog food instead ] I could do the same for you.
[ Missile is going to be so plump by the end of the game and maaaaaaybe it'll be okay with all the running he does, but it's still not ideal. ]
Who's been feeding you candy? You know to stay away from chocolate, don't you?
[ And onions in sandwiches, and whatever other common things aren't good for dogs. Do dogs need veggies in their diet? He thinks so, but not a lot? he's never owned a dog before. ]
[ Ayabe is in the kitchen staring at the fridge and lamenting the fact that he can't use garlic in anything anymore. How is he supposed to saute vegetables without a little garlic in there to bring everything together? This must be what being a dog is like, unfair dietary restrictions /: ]

[ Missile trots to the doorway, lured in by the siren call of someone rattling around the kitchen. someone who might feed him, even! it's great when that happens. ]
Hi, Ayabe! What're you doing? Are you making lunch?
[ but Missile thinks Ayabe is already super polite! ]
Huh? It would? But what about teriyaki chicken? Is that a dessert?! Have Miss Lynne and Miss Kamila been eating dessert for dinner all this time... without even sharing any?!
[ Missile knows his chickens, okay. and out of distress, he'll crowd closer to Ayabe, regardless of icky garlic smell... ]
[ How sweet is teriyaki chicken... That means Missile has definitely tried them though, right? ]
Don't get too close, Missile, you're going to—-
[ Trigger the panic attack explanation but without the context, from the viewpoint of somebody clinging to a chandelier 20 feet in the air. Don't ask how he got up there. ]
[ oh cool, great. meanwhile, Ayabe gets a nice, wonderful memory from, oh, about half a foot off the ground. a memory i'm totally making up, because while i'm sure it happened, Ghost Trick... does not dwell on the past.
the sun is shining, the air is brisk, and his Miss Lynne is running ahead of him! they're playing tag! he loves the days they get to play tag, because that means outdoors! and grass! and chicken delivered by the man with the funny nose in the park! and everything smells wonderful and Miss Lynne and Miss Kamila smile and feed him bits of their food and play with him!
and when he's tired out from running back and forth and around and around, he can flop down on the blanket they brought with them, and Miss Lynne will go find a water fountain so he can drink something, and Miss Kamila will pet him, and brush him, and tell him how fast he is! and sometimes, if the day is just warm enough, and the sun filters through the trees just right, they can all curl up together on the blanket - Miss Lynne on one side, Miss Kamila on the other, and Missile in the middle! and there, in the dappled shade, they can all doze off, warm and content with full bellies and full hearts.

[ heeeeere's Missile! here to cock his head at you and pant, cutely. ]
What are you doing?

i will assume Ayabe and Missile haven't talked since before Missile got his translation collar, so: ]
Fairy? Oh, is that your name? Because it's not my name! It's Missile!
[ oh, noise, oops. his doggy translated voice drops to a whisper after that introduction. ]
It's nice to meet you, Fairy! I'm here looking for anyone playing hide and seek!
no subject
What?
[ A hand goes up to clap over his ear, but because it's just the one hand, that doesn't block out the noise at all. ]
No, my name's Reito Ayabe. Call me Ayabe. Do not call me Fairy. And there's nobody playing here that I can see... though, if they're hiding...
[ He shrugs. Can't help if they're mid-game. ]
no subject
[ you know, in case someone... forgot they were playing... or something. ]
Is there a reason you're hiding from the noise?

[ Just in case... That's valid, though, Ayabe's canon has a kid who was playing hide and seek and was left hiding in the park overnight because everybody else ditched her, she would have appreciated Missile coming to find her. ]

[ A warning bark to make sure he doesn't get squashed underfoot, though Missile's loud and bright enough in general that maybe he will be alright. ]
Is Miss Kamila and Miss Lynne your family back home? If it's a nice couch, I'd get why Miss Lynne wouldn't want you to make a mess of it.
[ If it's a normal couch, he would get it. In any situation, Ayabe would be that person yelling about people dirtying his furniture. ]
no subject
[ he likes hugs too much to bark them away. ]
Hmph! As if Miss Lynne doesn't drop things all over the couch! Why, just the other day I saw her drop a chicken bone behind it! And then she chased me away when I tried to eat the skin!!!

Hi, Ayabe! What're you doing? Are you making lunch?
no subject
[ Just in case he needs the invite, Ayabe's trying to make it a reflex so people don't go bashing their noses all week. ]
I haven't decided what to make yet. It's like the garlic's gone bad, but it looks fine. I don't want to just throw it out...
no subject
It's not growing or anything, is it? Maybe you're just not in the mood for it!
[ it's tragic when that happens, but it won't be for forever. ]
You should make... something sweet!
no subject
If I make something sweet, it would be separate from lunch, as dessert. Hamburger's pretty easy, if you're hungry and want to share.
[ He's just going to... go find a thick towel to wrap around the cloves of garlic in here and remove them from the fridge. ]
We can eat and then go plant these.

Do you usually call your broom "him"? Oh, is there a soul in it?
no subject
[ It's better that Missile misunderstands, actually?? ]
Well. The broom I have back home, it's name is Fujishima-san. Plum gave me two to have here: Hanazumi-san, and Takiyama-san.
[ They sort of have souls???? in the way where Ayabe names his broomsticks in the same way other people name their swords. ]

You do?! Can I meet them? I want to say "hello!" to them!
